Of qualitative research patterns, the case study method has been employed in this study. The research group of the study is made up of a total of 12 preservice elementary mathematics teachers studying the fourth grade at the department of elementary mathematics teaching in a state university located in the Eastern Anatolian Region of Turkey during the fall semester of the 2013-2014 academic year. In the study, to get the opinions of preservice teachers on the concept of instructional activity, a written feedback form containing three open-ended questions was applied to the preservice teachers. Then, content analysis was conducted on the data obtained from the written feedback form. The study has revealed that preservice teachers have different opinions on the concept of instructional activity. (C) 2015 The Authors.
