As a didactic approach, correlation emerged with the claim of considering both religious knowledge and students’ lives in religious education and training. In the study, the theological and pedagogical foundations of correlation didactics were emphasized, the historical transformation of the approach was examined, the points to be considered in correlative religious teaching were mentioned, and the strengths and weaknesses of this approach were examined. The study aims to introduce the correlation didactics and present it to the attention and understanding of all relevant stakeholders. Another aim of the study is to enable a religious teaching approach that allows the religious knowledge, which is the subject of religion lessons, to come to life in real life and makes the religious one more understandable for students, opening the door to new searches in the field. © 2021 The authors.
