Üniversite Öğrencilerinin Affetme ve Mükemmeliyetçilik Düzeyleri Arasındaki İlişki: Duygusal Zekânın Aracı Rolü

Abstract

Bu araştırmada üniversite öğrencilerinin mükemmeliyetçilik ve affetme düzeyleri arasındaki ilişki de duygusal zekânın aracı rolünün incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada yöntem olarak ilişkisel tarama modeli seçilmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu ise 2015-2016 eğitim öğretim yılı Atatürk Üniversitesinde bulunan Edebiyat Fakültesi, İlahiyat Fakültesi, Kazım Karabekir Eğitim Fakültesi, Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi ve İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesinin üçüncü ve dördüncü sınıflarında öğrenim görmekte olan 304 kadın, 318 erkek öğrencinin oluşturduğu toplam 622 öğrenciden oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Heartland Affetme Ölçeği, Frost - Çok Boyutlu Mükemmeliyetçilik Ölçeği ve Duygusal Zekâ Özelliği Ölçeği - Kısa Formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre affetme ile mükemmeliyetçilik arasında negatif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki, affetme ile duygusal zekâ arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki, mükemmeliyetçilik ile duygusal zekâ arasında negatif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Son olarak affetme ile mükemmeliyetçilik arasında duygusal zekânın kısmenaracı rolü olduğu sonucu ortaya çıkarılmıştır

This article primarily aims to examine the mediator role of emotional intelligence on the relationship between the perfectionism and forgiveness levels of university students. Relational screening method and descriptive are employed in this research. The participants of the study consisted of 622 sophomore and senior students (304 females and 318 males) in Faculty of Literature, Faculty of Theology, Kazım Karabekir Faculty of Education, Faculty of Dentisry and Faculty of Economic and Administrative sciences in Atatürk University in 2015-2016 academic year. In this thesis, he following research instruments were used: Demographic from, Heatrland Forgiveness Scale, Frost Multi-dimensional Perfecionism Scale and Emotional Intelligence Traits Scale-Short Form. The results indicated that there was a negative correlation between forgivenesss and perfectionism. A similar negative relationship was also observed for Perfectionism and Emotional Intelligence. On the other hand, a positive correlation was obtained between forgiveness and emotional intelligence. According o the results, no significant difference was obsered for forgiveness and emotional intelligence levels regarding gender and the grade year groups. On the contrary, a significant difference was obtained for forgiveness and emotional intelligence levels in terms of pre-experience of psychological problems and faculty groups. Finally, it was concluded that there was a partial mediator role of emotional intelligence on the relationship between forgiveness and perfectionism
