Öğe Determination of Some Physical Fitness and Body Composition Characteristics of Young Bocce Players in Turkish National Team(10.03.2018) Türkmen, Mutlu; Özkan, Ali; Bozkus, Taner; Kul, MuratBocce is gaining popularity throughout the world and is a game that is dominated by aerobic and anaerobic power-capacity, endurance, and strength and body composition. These are all important factors in order to reach a successful performance in Bocce. The purpose of this study was to determine some physical fitness and body composition characteristics of young Bocce players in the Turkish national team. A total of 26 six (14 female age 21.00±8.47 and 12 male age 19.58±3.34) Bocce players from the National Team of Turkey participated in this study voluntarily. Subjects’ height, body weight, body mass index and body fat percentage were measured. Body fat percentage was determined by Yuhasz formula, and isometric dynamometer was used in order to determine knee, back, grip strength. The sit and reach test was used for the determination of flexibility. Results indicated that Bocce players have normal body mass index and body fat percentage and ectomorphy-mesomorphy properties. Results of the isometric knee, back, right-left grip strength values of Bocce players was 77.54±24.8 kg, 90.54±26.85 kg and 36.10±9.91-34.27±10.08 respectively and have normal flexibility (32.5±5.86). As a conclusion, the findings of the present study indicated that Bocce players have almost average body fat percentage, isometric strength and flexibility function.Öğe Determination of the Relationship between Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors, Physical Fitness, and Risk Factors of Coronary Heart Diseases in University Students(17.04.2018) Türkmen, Mutlu; Yaşartürk, Fatih; Özkan, Ali; Kul, Murat; Bozkus, Taner; Soslu, Recep; Aydin, Recep; Oz, UmitThe purpose of the present study was to determine the relationship between healthy lifestyle behaviors, physical fitness, and coronary risk factors in university students. 320 male and female (nm: 171; nf: 149, respectively) students from a university participated in this study voluntarily. For the determination of body composition and Body Mass Indexes (BMI), subjects’ height, body weight, and skinfold thickness were taken and body fat percentage (% fat) was determined. Healthy lifestyle behaviors were determined using the healthy lifestyle behaviors questionnaire. Indicators of physical fitness included flexibility (sit-up) (F), muscle strength and endurance (isometric knee (KS), back strength (BS) and a total of shuttle (TS), sprint performance, BMI, and body fat percentage (% fat). Coronary heart disease risk factors included mean arterial blood pressure (systolic (SBP) and diastolic (DBP)), fasting blood levels of triglycerides (TG), total cholesterol (TC), hematocrit (HCT), and hemoglobin (HGB). Results indicated subjects have normal body mass index, body fat percentage, SBP, DBP, TG, TCF, BS, and KS. The results of the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Analysis, indicated that SBP, DBP, TG, TCF, BS, and KS for male and female was significantly correlated with flexibility (sit-up) (F), muscle strength and endurance (isometric knee (KS), back strength (BS) and total of shuttle (TS)), sprint performance. (p < 0.01; p < 0.05), In conclusion, the findings of the present study indicated that physical fitness and healthy lifestyle behaviors play a determinant role in coronary heart disease risk factors for male and female students from a university.Öğe Investigation of the relation between healthy life style and physical activity levels of academic staff(10.03.2015) Türkmen, Mutlu; Özkan, Ali; Kul, Murat; Bozkus, TanerInvestigation of the relation between healthy life style and physical activity levels of academic staff
