This study aims to determine to what extent Turkish teachers include media literacy principles and key questions in the course syllabuses they prepare with media texts. The study group consists of 14 Turkish teachers who took the "Media Literacy and Use of Media in Education" master course (f=7) and who had not taken any course on media literacy before (f=7). Teachers work in secondary schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in different provinces of Turkey. In the study structured as a case study, 14 Turkish course syllabuses were interpreted with content analysis. The presence of media literacy principles in the syllabuses has varied according to the source, fiction, and technique of the media message, the difference in meanings that can be derived from the media message, the coded or excluded messages in the media message, and the purpose of sending the media message. In addition, it was determined that Turkish teachers who took a master's degree course on media literacy created more comprehensive and compatible syllabuses with principles/key questions of media literacy than Turkish teachers who had not taken any courses on media literacy before.
