Öğe AWARENESS LEVELS OF ATATURK UNIVERSITY HEALTH SERVICES VOCATIONAL SCHOOL STUDENTS ABOUT HYGIENE(AVES, 2021) Ateş, Fatih Mehmet; Albayrak, MevlütObjective: It is important to determine the knowledge level and hygiene habits of university students on hygiene. In this study, it was aimed to determine the level of awareness of health services vocational school students about hygiene and to observe what can be done to eliminate the detected problems in hygiene. Methods: The universe of the descriptive research was selected as students studying at a university's vocational school of health services. In this study, 685 students who accepted to participate in the study without using the sampling method were included in the study. The “Hygiene Questionnaire” consisting of 45 questions developed by the researchers and the “Sociodemographic Information Form” consisting of 10 questions were applied to the students. Descriptive statistics were used to evaluate the data. Ethics committee approval was obtained for the research. Results: The mean age of the students is 19.97±1.49 and 75.90% of them are girls. 4.08% of the students were operating room services, 4.81% anesthesia, 9.05% dental prosthesis technology, 8.61% dialysis, 11.82% pharmacy services, 4.37% disabled care and rehabilitation, 7.88% physiotherapy, 4.37% first and emergency aid, 4.37% audiometry, 1.60% orthopedic prosthesis and orthotics, 7.15% medical documentation and secretarial, 17.22% medical imaging techniques, 13.57% medical laboratory techniques, % It was determined that 1.02 of them were studying in the department of elderly care. It was determined that 95.8% of the boys and 99.0% of the girls knew the necessity of periodic examination in order to be protected from infectious diseases in the working environment and the difference was statistically significant (p<0.05). Conclusion: The level of awareness can be improved by giving more place to the subject of personal hygiene in the contents of the courses taken by the students. With awareness studies, it will be possible to make personal hygiene perceptible at the highest level. © 2021, AVES. All rights reserved.Öğe Çalışma Ortamında Kimyasallardan Kaynaklı Tehlikeler ve İnsan Sağlığına Etkileri(Bayburt Üniversitesi, 2023) Demirci, Gülseren; Ateş, Fatih Mehmet; Fandaklı, SedaBu çalışma, işyerinde kimyasallara maruz kalmaktan kaynaklanan potansiyel tehlikeler ve buna bağlı olarak insan sağlığına yönelik riskler hakkında genel bir bakış sunmayı amaçlamaktadır. Üretim süreçleri, depolama ve nakliye dahil olmak üzere çalışma ortamındaki kimyasalların kaynaklarını incelemek, potansiyel tehlikelerini analiz edilmiştir. Çalışma ayrıca soluma, cilt teması ve yutma gibi kimyasallara maruz kalmanın farklı yollarını da araştırmakta ve kimyasalların toksisitesini etkileyebilecek doz, maruz kalma süresi ve duyarlılığı gibi çeşitli faktörleri tartışmaktadır. Kişisel koruyucu ekipman kullanımı, mühendislik kontrolleri, uygun taşıma ve depolama prosedürleri de dahil olmak üzere tehlikeli kimyasallara maruz kalmayı önlemek veya azaltmak için önlemlerin uygulanmasının önemini belirtmektedir. Buna ek olarak, çalışma; cilt tahrişi, solunum sorunları ve kanser gibi akut ve kronik etkiler de dahil olmak üzere işyerlerinde kimyasallara maruz kalmanın neden olabileceği çeşitli sağlık etkilerini tartışmaktadır. Ayrıca, kimyasallara maruz kalan çalışanların izlenmesi ve gözetiminin öneminin yanı sıra, tehlikeli kimyasallara maruz kalmaktan etkilenen çalışanlar için uygun tıbbi gözetim ve tedavi ihtiyacının altını çizmektedir. Bu bağlamda araştırma, uygun risk değerlendirmeleri, etkili kontrol önlemleri ve çalışanların uygun şekilde izlenmesi ve gözetimi yoluyla işyerinde kimyasallarla ilişkili tehlikelerin ele alınmasının kritik öneminin altını çizmektedir. Çalışma ayrıca, kimyasallara maruz kalmayla ilişkili riskleri daha iyi anlamak, bu riskleri önlemek ve azaltmak için yeni stratejiler geliştirmek için devam eden araştırmalara duyulan ihtiyacı vurgulamaktadır.Öğe Covid-19 Pandemisinde Trabzon İli Tıbbi Atık Verilerinin Değerlendirilmesi(2023) Fandaklı, Seda; Atar, Büşra; Ateş, Fatih MehmetNüfusun, şehirleşmenin ve toplumsal refah düzeyinin artışı, teknolojinin gelişmesi, satın alma gücünün artışı, tüketim alışkanlıklarının değişimi, hizmetlerde lüks ve kalite arayışı atık miktarını artırmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, ayrı atık toplama ve azaltma stratejileri ile Trabzon İl Ambulans Servisi ve Toplum Sağlığı Merkezleri'nin atık yönetimini ve bu kurumlardaki atık miktarı ve dağılımına Covid-19'un etkisini incelenmiştir. Covid-19 enfeksiyonunun atık miktarına ve dağılımına etkisini incelemek için ülkemizde Covid-19 enfeksiyonunun ilk görüldüğü 2020 yılı ile önceki ve sonraki yılların verileri karşılaştırılmıştır. Trabzon İli Ambulans Servisinde, ülkemizde ilk Covid-19 vakasının görüldüğü yıl olan 2020 yılında öncesi ve sonrası yıllara göre daha fazla tıbbi atık miktarı (8641 kg) ortaya çıktığı tespit edilmiştir. Toplum Sağlığı Merkezinde ise 2020 yılında oldukça fazla artış gösteren tıbbi atık miktarı, en fazla 2021 yılında (5350 kg) olarak gerçekleşmiştir. Tıbbi atık yönetimi çeşitli riskleri de bünyesinde barındıran maliyetli bir süreçtir. Mevzuata uyumlu atık yönetimi ile riskler engellenebilir ve karşılaşılabilecek iş kazaları da minimize edilebilir. Atık yönetiminin bütün evrelerinde dikkat edilmesi gereken nokta; insan sağlığını, çevre sağlığını ve ekonomiyi olumsuz etkilemeyecek adımların atılmasıdır.Öğe Elektrik Kazalarına Karşı Temel Önlemler ve İlk Yardım Üzerine Bir Çalışma(Bayburt University, 2019) Ateş, Fatih Mehmet; Teber, Ahmet; Güngör, Okanİş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği kültüründe, elektrik kazalarına karşı önlem almada ki ihmal, bir saha çalışmasında uygulanabilir olmama ve yönetmeliklerin ihmal edilmesi nedeniyle ölümcül veya ölümcül olmayan elektrik kazaları mevcuttur. Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumu Raporu (Türkiye-2017) verilerine göre, Türkiye'deki iş kazaları öngörülemeyen boyutlara ulaşmıştır. Bu çalışma, elektrik kazalarının nedenlerini ve elektriksel sorunlara karşı alınması gereken önlemleri, ilk yardım sırasındaki protokolleri ve bir kaza durumunda uygulanan bakım/onarım faaliyetlerini incelemiştir. Ayrıca, işyerinde sıradan bir çalışan tarafından elektrik kazalarına karşı gerekli ilk yardımın, zorunlu önlemlerin ve genel iş sağlığı güvenliğinin bir özeti ayrıntılı olarak sunulmaktadır. The research data were collected by applying the 49-question “Knowledge Levels Questionnaire for Healthcare Professional Candidate Students on Protection from Communicable Infections, Especially COVID” and the “Sociodemographic Information Form” consisting of 7 questions. Data; number, percentile, mean and standard devia-tion, and chi-square test. Results: 3.16% of the students had operating room services, 2.69% dental prosthesis technology, 9.13% dialysis, 10.54% pharmacy services, 4.92% physiotherapy, 4.92% first and emergency aid, 4.92% audiometry, 7.85% orthopedic prosthetics and orthotics, 4.10% medical documentation and secretarial, 7.96% medical imaging techniques, 13.82% were studying in medical laboratory tech-niques, 3.40% in elderly care, 22.60% in pharmacy and 60.77% was determined to be a first year student. 97.9% of the undergraduate students in the Faculty of Pharmacy compared to the students in other departments knew the necessity of paying attention to personal hygiene in order to be protected from infectious diseases, and the difference was statistically significant p <,05. Conclusion: Course contents should be enriched with digital materials to raise awareness against infectious diseases. © 2023, AVES. All rights reserved.Öğe MW Assisted Synthesis of New 4,6-diaryl-3,4-Didhydropyrimidines-2(1H)-thione Derivatives: Tyrosinase Inhibition, Antioxidant, and Molecular Docking Studies(2023) Fandaklı, Seda; Yücel, Tayyibe Beyza; Öztürk, Elif; Uzuner, Uğur; Barut, Burak; Ateş, Fatih Mehmet; Yaylı, NurettinA number of new methoxy-substituted 4,6-diaryl-3,4-dihydropyrimidine-2(1H)-thiones (DH-Pyr-S, 17-28) were designed and synthesized by the reaction of methoxy-substituted chalcones (1–14) with thiourea using solid-phase microwave method (MW) in view of the structural requirements as suggested in the pharmacophore model for tyrosinase inhibition (TI). Synthesized compounds were assessed for their in vitro TI potential and compounds 16, 17, and 21 exhibited notable tyrosinase inhibitory properties at the concentrations of 31.86 ± 2.45 µM, 44.58 ± 0.46 µM, and 48.47 ± 0.66 µM, respectively. Compounds (16, 17, and 21) were exhibited experimentally more potent TI than the standard used in terms of the IC50 value (Kojic acid, 55.38 ± 2.30 µM; p<0.0001). Additionally, DPPH activity of 15-28 were evaluated and compound 17 showed the moderate DPPH activity (45.64 ± 0.34%). Binding affinities of synthesized molecules to the tyrosinase catalytic core were further investigated through in silico molecular docking studies using AutoDock Vina (version 1.2.5), discovery studio accelyrs (BIOVIA, Dassault Systèmes) and predicting small-molecule pharmacokinetic properties using graph-based signatures (pkCSM) programs were used for ADMET calculations. Among synthesized compounds 15, 21, and 24 revealed high binding affinity to tyrosinase active site with lowest binding free energy (?G) values of -7.9 kcal/mol, thereby outperformed kojic acid affinity. In conclusion most modeling results were in agreement with their experimental data, suggesting the TI potential of lead compounds.Öğe POSITIVE EFFECTS OF OXYRESVERATROL ON OXIDATIVE STRESS DAMAGE IN L929 FIBROBLAST CELLS(University of Ankara, 2023) Ateş, Fatih Mehmet; Bayir, YasinObjective: It was aimed to determine the regenerative effect of oxyresveratrol in eliminating the cell damage caused by the effect of H2O2 in L929 fibroblast cells. Material and Method: Total antioxidant capacity (TAC), total oxidant capacity (TOC), oxidative stress index (OSI), total phenolic substance levels of oxyresveratrol were measured at different concentrations. After the IC50 value of oxyresveratrol fibroblast cells was determined by the MTT method, the regenerative effect on oxidative stress damage induced by H2O2 at 12.5-400 µM concentrations was performed with the xCELLigence device to measure cell proliferation in-vitro. In addition, scratch analysis was performed at concentrations of 3.125-25 µM in order to determine the wound healing levels in cell damage. Result and Discussion: The TAC value of oxyresveratrol at 0.5 mg/ml was 3 ± 0.3 and the TOC value was 0.77 ± 0.52; (OSI) value was found to be 0.02 ± 0.09. It has been observed that the total phenolic substance (TPS) concentrations of oxiresveratrol at different doses from 0.625 mg/ml to 10 mg/ml have higher TPS from low concentration to high concentration. Oxyresveratrol L929 fibroblast cells IC50 value 214.2 ?M; The IC50 value of oxyresveratrol was determined to be 109.7 ?M in the cell line of L929 fibroblast cells exposed to H2O2. The highest cell proliferation was observed when measuring the 12.5 ?M concentration of oxiresveratrol with the xCELLigence device. Scratch analysis showed a greater improvement than other doses, with a cell proliferation of 62% at the 24th hour and 88% at the 48th hour at a concentration of 12.5 ?M oxyresveratrol in H2O2-damaged cells. The 12.5 ?M concentration was determined to be the most effective concentration in both proliferation and scratch analysis. Oxyresveratrol; with its antioxidant capacity at low concentrations, L929 protects fibroblast cells from oxidative stress in cellular damage caused by H2O2, and creates a power multiplier effect on fibroblast viability and migration. These results indicate that oxyresveratrol; showed that it can be effective at the cellular level preventing of acute or chronic diseases caused by free oxygen radicals. It can be thought that oxyresveratrol may be a potential molecule in the treatment of oxidative stress-induced diseases with more comprehensive studies to be carried out at the cellular level and in-vivo studies. © 2023 University of Ankara. Bu kimyasallar; gıdalar, su ve hava ile alınabilmektedir. Dünyanın büyük bir bölümü su içerdiği gibi canlı organizmalarda da yüksek oranda su bulunmaktadır. Organizmalarda yüksek oranda suyun varlığı kimyasal reaksiyonların büyük bir kısmının da sulu çözeltilerde olmasını sağlamaktadır. Canlılar kendi organizmasının bütünlüğünü koruma adına farklı savunma mekanizmaları kullanmaktadır. Enfeksiyon etkenlerinin yok edilmesinde antimikrobiyal etkinlik açısıdan savunma hücreleri önemli bir yere sahiptir. Nötrofiller, myeloperoksidaz aracılığı ile Hipokloröz asit (HOCl) oluşturarak antimikrobiyal aktivite göstermektedir. Savunma sisteminin doğal olarak ürettiği HOCl, yapay olarak da üretilerek temizlik ve dezenfeksiyon amacıyla kullanılabilmektedir. HOCl; su ve NaCl'nin elektrolizi ile üretilebildiği için ekonomiktir. Temizlik ve dezenfeksiyonda maksimum antimikrobiyal etkiye pH=3-6 seviyelerinde ulaşmaktadır. HOCl sulu çözelti içerisinde, H+ ve OCl?olarak ayrışır ve proteinleri denatüre eder. HOCl; kloraminler ve azotlu radikaller oluşturarak çift sarmallı DNA'ları parçalayarak virüsleri zararsız hale getirmektedir. HOCl, Covid-19 dahil geniş bir tayfta virüslerin yok edilmesinde kullanım alanı bulan zayıf ama etkili bir asittir. Yapılan çalışmalar ışığında HOCl, gelecekte özellikle medikal sektöründe olmak üzere daha birçok alan da kullanım alanı bulacağı öngörülmektedir.Öğe Use of Material Safety Data Sheet in Workplaces(Atatürk Üniversitesi, 2024) Ateş, Fatih MehmetEmployees in workplaces are exposed to physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, and psychosocial hazards. These hazards affect employees in various ways. Having knowledge of the characteristics of chemicals to which employees are exposed can help minimize the risks of workplace accidents and occupational diseases. "Material Safety Data Sheets for Hazardous Substances and Mixtures" known as MSDS, should be provided in Turkish for chemicals used in workplaces, and employees should receive training. An MSDS for any chemical should contain 16 parameter information. Upon examination of the MSDS, the presence of risk statements (R) indicating the potential risks of the chemical and safety statements (S) outlining actions to be taken when exposed to the harmful effects of the chemical can be observed. Due to the length of MSDS in workplaces, posting them for warning purposes is generally challenging. Therefore, examining the MSDS for chemicals used in production and preparing short MSDS labels containing only necessary information would be more practical. These labels provide information to the staff in areas where chemicals are used in workplaces and assist in interventions during emergencies. This study provides users with concise information on the use of the mentioned MSDS labels, preventing hazards associated with chemicals in workplaces, and reducing risks. Easy access to this summary information could help laboratory users avoid workplace accidents and occupational diseases.
