Investigation of School Principals' Digital Leadership from Teachers' Perspective: A Scale Adaptation Study

This study aims to develop a valid and reliable scale that can be used to measure the digital leadership skills of school principals by adapting the 'Digital Leadership' scale into Turkish. To test the construct validity of the scale, data were collected from 250 teachers working in different provinces in Turkey and exploratory factor analysis was conducted on the collected data. In order to test the model-data fit of the structure that emerged according to the results of the exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis was conducted on the data collected from 187 teachers. As a result of the exploratory factor analysis it was found that the six items in the data collection instrument explained 81% of the total variance and the item factor loadings ranged between '.81' and '.94'. The goodness of fit values obtained as a result of the confirmatory factor analysis also indicated that the model-data fit for the scale was at a good level. The preliminary results of this study show that the adapted scale has the validity and reliability to be used in measuring the digital leadership skills of school principals.
