Investigation Of Dependent And Independent Variables In Forming Method In Fastener Production

In this study, material and die geometry, which are the independent variables for cold forming in product production, processing speed and deformation amount, and the dependent variables, material flow during deformation and size sensitivity are focused. With CAD software, all the die designs required for the product's operations were made in three-dimensional environment, and a detailed mesh structure was created by transferring it to the simulation program. Processing was started as raw material (wire) and the product was transported by shaping between stations and the final virtual product was obtained. Different optimization studies were made with the data obtained. When the raw material "stress-strain" diagrams were examined, it was observed that the strain value formed by the deformation in the final product was reduced by about 18% with the simulation-supported optimization studies in order to produce the product in higher quantities in the die, and accordingly the die stresses decreased by about 40% and the die performance increased.
