Öğe Developing an Active Citizenship Scale for the Fourth Grade Primary School Students'(Kamla-Raj Enterprises, 2014) Kansu, Ceren Cevik; Oksuz, YucelThe purpose of the present paper is to develop a scale for assessing behaviours towards active citizenship for 4th grade primary school students. The proposal scale, composed of 42 items, was applied to 544 students who are studying at 4th grade of primary schools in the centre of Bayburt. The principal component analysis rotated by varimax rotation was used to obtain evidence for validity of the scale. As a result of this analysis, it has been determined that the scale consists of 25 items and it has a structure composed of four factors. Evidence for validity of the item, item test correlation of the scale and item analysis of the mean differences between upper and lower groups were calculated. It was observed that item test correlation of the scale changed between 0.42-0.74. Besides, Cr alpha reliabilities were calculated and it was found to be 0.85.Öğe Evaluation of Prospective Teachers and Practice Classroom Teachers Opinions of problems Encountered in Practice Schools (Bayburt University sample)(Elsevier Science Bv, 2014) Oksuz, Yucel; Cevik, CerenIn this study, prospective teachers' and practice classroom teachers' opinions on the problems encountered during the schoolteaching practice class in the practice schools have been examined. The study has been conducted with 125 senior prospective teachers at B. U. Education Faculty, Primary Education, Primary School Teaching Department, and 21 practice classroom teachers that work at practice schools. The present study is case study, one of the qualitative researches. The data about the opinions of the prospective teachers and the practice classroom teachers were collected through the 'Interview form' developed by the researchers, and 'Practice Teacher Proficiency Scale' that was developed by Kiraz (2003) in order to find out the prospective teachers' views regarding the practice classroom teachers. Besides, 18 students who were willing have been interviewed. The data obtained out of the interview forms were analyzed with the help of descriptive statistics; the data obtained out of the interviews were analyzed with the help of qualitative data analysis techniques; and the data gathered out of the scale were analyzed with the help of SPSS 18.0 statistics packet. In line with the findings, some suggestions towards the classroom teaching education and the applications in primary schools have been presented. (C) 2013 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
