Öğe Androsace artvinensis sp. nov. (Primulaceae): A new species from northeastern Anatolia, Turkey(Magnolia Press, 2022) Sefali, Abdurrahman; Yapar, YakupAndrosace artvinensis (Primulaceae) from Artvin province (northeastern Anatolia) has been described as a new species to science. The new species is morphologically similar to A. armeniaca var. macrantha but differs from it by several morphological characters, such as bracts shape, calyx (calyx length and lobes), corolla (corolla length, lobes, and indumentum), hairs, leaves, pollen features, and habitat preference. Diagnostic morphological characteristics, a full description, and a distribution map are provided.Öğe A comparative anatomical study on leaf and scape of Androsace taxa (Primulaceae): contribution to Androsace taxonomy(Springer-Verlag Italia Srl, 2023) Ulcay, Sibel; Sefali, Abdurahman; Yapar, Yakup; Demir, Ibrahim; Gidik, BetulIn the present study, the leaf and scape anatomical features of ten Androsace taxa distributed in Turkiye were defined to contribute to plant identification. Hand sections from both the scape and leaf examined 43 anatomical characters. Principal component analysis (PCA) and hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA) were performed for the first time for Androsace. The results show that there are differences as well as similarities between Androsace species. It is noteworthy that Androsace artvinensis forms a separate main group with HCA. In addition, the fact that two of the five basic components are represented by a single variable according to the PCA results suggests that the anatomical characters examined are determinative for Androsace taxa.). In PCA, eigenvalues of PC1 (2.435), PC2 (1.749), PC3 (1.369), PC4 (1.223), and PC5 (1.006) were greater than 1.0. Cortex width, aerenchyma, arrangement of vascular bundles, and four-branched non-glandular hairs are among the important anatomical characteristics of the scape. Leaf cross-sectional shape, epidermis dimensions, glandular hair types, presence of five branched non-glandular hairs, stoma sizes, presence of crystals in the mesophyll, and types are among the qualitative and quantitative anatomical characteristics that attract attention in the leaf. This study examined almost all taxa of the genus Androsace distributed in Turkiye. The results will be important in finding new species among the examined taxa and revealing the anatomical features of the taxa for the first time. They will contribute to other studies on the genus.Öğe Interspecific diversity of endemic Cirsium sommieri Petr.(2025) Sefalı, Abdurrahman; Yapar, YakupThe genus Cirsium is highly polymorphic, and its members often show surprising variations. Cirsium sommieri, an endemic plant in eastern Türkiye, is one of them. An interesting population of Cirsium sommieri was examined morphologically. The distribution of the species in Türkiye was examined, and the samples were compared. And also, some morphological characters, such as leaves, involucre, phyllaries, and achene morphology, were examined comparatively. The geographical distribution of this species is given.Öğe Noccaea Anatolica Sp. Nov. (Brassicaceae): A New Species from Eastern Anatolia, Türkiye(Bitlis Eren Üniversitesi, 2023) Sefalı, Abdurrahman; Yapar, Yakup; Demir, İbrahimNoccaea anatolica sp. nov. (Brassicaceae) is described and illustrated as a new species from Van Province in eastern Anatolia, Türkiye. Diagnostic morphological characteristics, a full description, detailed illustrations, and a distribution map are provided. It is morphologically similar to Noccaea sintenisii and Noccaea valerianoides but easily differs from these species by its fruit shape, seed characters, basal leaf shape, and also general habit.Öğe Pastinaca vanensis (Apiaceae), a new species from Turkey(Magnolia Press, 2022) Demir, Ibrahim; Sefali, Abdurrahman; Yapar, YakupPastinaca vanensis is described as a new species from the Ba??kale district (Van-Turkey). Its diagnostic characteristics are discussed, and taxonomic comments are presented. P. vanensis is related to Pastinaca zozimoides but differs from this spe-cies in indumentum, petal color, and mericarp features. Data on ecology and the conservation status of the new species are also presented. A distribution map of the new and related species is provided.Öğe Primula longipes subsp. bayburtensis Sefali, Yapar & Demir (Primulaceae): A new taxon from north-eastern Anatolia, Türkiye(Pensoft Publishers, 2025) Sefali, Abdurrahman; Yapar, Yakup; Demir, Ibrahim; Yurtvermez, Bayram; Keser, Ali MuratThe new taxon, Primula longipes subsp. bayburtensis Sefali, Yapar & Demir, subsp. nov. (Primulaceae) is described and illustrated from Bayburt Province, T & uuml;rkiye. It is morphologically assigned to Primula sect. Crystallophlomis based on its long scapes, lanceolate and denticulate leaf with long petiole and hairless habit, fruits longer than calyx and covered by farina on the scape. This new taxon is similar to Primula longipes and P. nivalis subsp. turkestanica; it can also be easily distinguished by its calyx divided ratio, thurm flowers (unwidened corolla tube shape and length) and capsules (length) futures.Öğe Rize Çay Bahçeleri İçin Tehdit Oluşturan Türkiye İçin Yeni Bir İstilacı Bitki Kaydı: Begonia cucullata Willd. var. hookeri (A.DC.) L.B.Sm.
