    Deaths in the Turkish Army in the Second World War

    Second World War is one of the bloodiest wars ever recorded in human history. In this great war, the states that remained out of the war as well as the warring states suffered a heavy destruction. Although not entering the war, 28,749 soldiers died in the Turkish army. At a time when the German Army invaded the Balkans to Turkey's occupation it had to be taken against the possibility of military action. Against a possible invasion, the number of the Turkish army reached more than one million. With the recruitment of the young population, there has been a decline in the agricultural workforce and its negative impact on the country's economy has been felt in a short time. The bodies of the soldiers, who had to walk hungry and tired for days in winter conditions, were weakened. Many troops had to live in tents during the war. Insufficient shelter, nutrition and sanitation invited epidemic diseases and caused thousands of soldiers to die. Military equipment and health services were insufficient. In addition, soldiers died in the sinking of the Refah freighter, the sinking of the Atılay Submarine, plane and train accidents, freezing, burning, suicides and border clashes. However, such causes only account for 2% of deaths. 98% of the deaths in the Turkish Army are caused by diseases during the Second World War. 98% of the deaths in the Turkish Army during the Second World War are caused by diseases. In this article, the causes of deaths in the Turkish Army during the Second World War were tried to be examined.
