Öğe Are there barriers to the intention of fish consumption in restaurants? Insights from Türkiye using an extension of the Theory of Planned Behaviour(Paradigm Publishing Services-De Gruyter Brill Sp Zoo, 2025) Apak, Omer CeyhunThis paper examines the parallel mediating roles of attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control in the effect of perceived barriers on the intention to consume fish in restaurants. The study examines restaurant customers' intentions regarding fish consumption within the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) framework. The study also used the relational survey model framework, a quantitative research design frequently used in social sciences. The study included 529 restaurant customers from seven cities that were randomly selected from seven different regions of T & uuml;rkiye. The data were analysed with SPSS and PROCESS macros. The study determined that perceived barriers, attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control were related to the intention to consume fish, and that attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioural control significantly mediated the relationship between perceived barriers and intention of fish consumption.Öğe Does sensory experiences affect satisfaction with street food?(Routledge Journals, Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2025) Apak, Omer CeyhunThis paper explores the relationships between domestic tourists' sensory experience, place dependence, and satisfaction in street food. The research was conducted based on responses from 438 domestic tourists who visited Izmir (T & uuml;rkiye) and consumed street food. This study uses the relational survey method to examine the relationships between variables. The study revealed direct relationships between variables using SEM. Then, the mediating role of place dependence in the effect of sensory experiences on satisfaction was tested using PROCESS macros. The results show that sensory experiences (sight, smell, and taste) and place dependence positively and significantly affect satisfaction. In addition, Model 4 of the PROCESS macro found the significant mediating role of place dependence in the effect of sensory experiences on satisfaction.Öğe The effect of local food consumption of domestic tourists on sustainable tourism(Elsevier Sci Ltd, 2023) Apak, Omer Ceyhun; Guerbuez, AhmetThis research aims to determine the effect of local food consumption of domestic tourists on sustainable tourism. In addition, the study also aims to: reveal the impact of local foods on economic, socio-cultural, and environ-mental sustainability. In this context, data were collected from 394 domestic tourists visiting the provinces of the Eastern Black Sea region (Artvin, Bayburt, Gumushane, Trabzon and Rize). This research was designed in accordance with the correlational research method, one of the quantitative research designs. The research data were tested using structural equation modeling, which is commonly used in the social and behavioral sciences. As a result, it was found that local food has a statistically significant and positive effect on sustainable tourism. In addition, local food was found to have a positive effect on the subscales (economic, socio-cultural and envi-ronmental) of sustainable tourism.Öğe Examining the serial mediating role of emotional solidarity and perceived concern in the effect of residents' community commitment on support for tourism development(Elsevier, 2025) Apak, Omer Ceyhun; Tas, Muhammed; Gunes, ErkanThis paper examines the serial mediating role of emotional solidarity and perceived concern in the impact of community commitment on support for tourism development. The study is designed within the framework of the relational survey model, which is one of the quantitative research designs. The data were collected from the residents of Bayburt (T & uuml;rkiye), one of the destinations in the early stages of tourism development. The residents participating in the study were informed that it was voluntary. Thus, the study was conducted on a total of 423 samples. SPSS and PROCESS macros Model 6 were used to analyze the data in the study. As a result of the study, community commitment and emotional solidarity were positive, and perceived concern was negatively related to support for tourism development. In addition, it was determined that emotional solidarity and perceived concern significantly mediate the effect of community commitment on support for tourism development.
