dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study is to examine the views and needs of preschool teachers towards mathematics education. Case study method, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. The study group consisted of 18 preschool teachers. As a result of the research, it was determined that preschool teachers had problems in preparing and implementing mathematics activities, concretisation, instructional problems, lack of materials and books, method and getting down to the level of children. In order to improve children's mathematical skills, teachers emphasised teaching through play, focusing on mathematical activities, not doing activities on paper, concretisation, and associating with life, while families should support their children, play games, pay attention to the use of mathematical language, and receive training in pre-school mathematics. Among the methods and techniques suggested by the teachers to be used in mathematical activities for children are "through play, by doing and experiencing, demonstration, song-music, problem solving, trial and error, drama". It was determined that preschool teachers felt the need for training on mathematics learning disability, educational materials used in mathematics, examples of measurement mathematics activities in preschool period, spatial position and spatial thinking, methods in mathematics teaching, the role of family and teacher in mathematics education, mathematics learning processes, the use of graphics in preschool period, what is a concept - properties of concepts, operation concept.
dc.description.abstractBu araştırmanın amacı okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin matematik eğitimine yönelik görüş ve ihtiyaçlarının incelenmesidir. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışma grubunu 18 okul öncesi öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma sonucunda okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin matematik etkinliklerini hazırlama ve uygulama, somutlaştırma, öğretimsel problemler, materyal ve kitap eksikliği yöntem ve çocukların seviyelerine inme konusunda problem yaşadıkları belirlenmiştir. Çocukların matematik becerilerini geliştirmek için öğretmenler, oyun yoluyla öğretim, matematik etkinliklerine ağırlık verme, kağıt üzerinden etkinlikler yapmama, somutlaştırma, yaşamla ilişkilendirme gibi konuları; ailelerin ise çocuklarına destek olmaları, oyun oynanması, matematiksel dil kullanımına dikkat etmesi ve okul öncesi matematik konusunda eğitim almaları gerektiğini vurgulamışlardır. Öğretmenlerin çocuklara yönelik matematiksel etkinliklerde kullanılmasını önerdikleri yöntem ve teknikler arasında "oyun yoluyla, yaparak yaşayarak, gösterip yaptırma, şarkı-müzik, problem çözme, deneme yanılma yolu, drama" yer almaktadır. Okul öncesi öğretmenlerin kendilerine yönelik matematik öğrenme güçlüğü, matematikte kullanılan eğitim materyalleri, okul öncesi dönemde ölçme matematik etkinlik örnekleri, mekanda konum ve uzamsal düşünme, matematik öğretiminde yöntemler, matematik eğitiminde aile ve öğretmen rolü, matematik öğrenme süreçleri, okul öncesi dönemde grafiklerin kullanımı, kavram nedir?- kavramların özellikleri, işlem kavramı konularında eğitim ihtiyacı hissettikleri belirlenmiştir.
