dc.description.abstractBu çalışmanın amacı, web tabanlı fen ve teknoloji öğretimi amacıyla hazırlanan web sitesinin pilot uygulamasının yapılarak, uygulamanın öğrencilerin "ışık ve ses" ünitesi kavramlarına yönelik etkisini ve uygulama sürecinin öğrenci görüşleri doğrultusunda değerlendirilmesidir. Çalışma 2011-2012 öğretim yılında Trabzon'da bir ilköğretim okulunda, Fen ve Teknoloji dersi kapsamında yürütülmüştür. Bu araştırmanın örneklemini Fen ve Teknoloji dersini alan 15 altıncı sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma, özel durum çalışması yöntemi ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada web tabanlı öğretim ilkeleri baz alınarak 6. Sınıf Fen ve Teknoloji dersi konusu olan "ışık ve ses" ünitesinin öğretimine yönelik bir web sitesi hazırlanmıştır. Veriler, uygulama sırasında öğrencilerin hazırladıkları günlükler, öğrencilerle yapılan online görüşme kayıtları ve uygulama öncesinde ve sonunda uygulanan açık uçlu konu başarı sınavından elde edilmiştir. Çalışma sonunda web tabanlı öğretimin Fen ve Teknoloji dersine etkisi değerlendirilerek, web tabanlı yaklaşımın öğrenci başarısını olumlu etkilediği ve web tabanlı öğretimin faydaları; dersi kaçıran öğrencinin kendi anlayış hızına göre dersi dinleyebildiği, zaman ve mekan sınırlamasının olmadığı, istediği veya anlamadığı konuyu tartışma olanağı sağladığı şeklinde sıralanabilmektedir.
dc.description.abstractAim of this study is to examine the effect of a website which was prepared to teach web-based science and technology course by pilot application, towards students' concepts related to ''light and sound'' unit and to assess the application process according to studens' views. Study was being carried during 2011-2012 academic year, in an elementary school in Trabzon, and within the context of science and technology course. Sample of the research is composed of 15 6th grade students. The research is carried by applying the case study method. During the research, a website related to ''Light and Sound'' unit of 6th grade curriculum, was prepared according to web-based teaching principles. Data were obtained from the students' jurnals which were being prepared during the application, records of online interviews of the students, and an open-ended achievement exam made both before and after the application. At the end of the application, benefits of web-based teaching were listed as: the opportunity of following the class depending on his/her knowledge level when a student misses a course, the opportunity to discuss a subject s/he wants to discuss or cannot understand, and it's positive effects on student success.
