Araştırma, 20 adet kontrol ve 50 adet deneme kolonisi olmak üzere toplam 70 adet koloni ile 6 farklı işletmede yürütülmüştür. Bu çalışmada, Erzurum Bölgesi şartlarına en iyi uyum sağlamış arı ekotipinden kontrollü olarak yetiştirilen ana arılarla oluşturulan kolonilerde hırçınlık, yağmacılık ve oğul eğilimi gibi davranışsal özellikler incelenmiştir.
