dc.description.abstractAfter the settlement in Karabakh by the Tsarist Russia in the 19th century, Armenians who systematically oppressed, threatened and violated the Azerbaijani people in the region, did not want to recognize the Government of the Azerbaijan Republic established in May 1918. As a matter of fact, they rebelled against the government of the Azerbaijan Republic during its 23-month existence and tried to establish their own administration in Karabakh and then unite the region to Armenia. However, the Azerbaijani government did not give this opportunity to the Armenians living in Karabakh, who received support from both Armenia and the armed bands of gangs and managed to achieve the territorial integrity throughout the country. Armenian riots against the Azerbaijani government in 1918-1920, who has territorial claims in Karabakh for more than 100 years, constitute the subject of this study. This study frequently refers to sources of the mentioned period which makes it prominent and distinctive study. To sum up, the riots of the Armenians in Karabakh in 1918-1920, the approach of the great states towards Karabakh and the Azerbaijani governments struggle against the rebels were examined in detail.
dc.description.abstractXIX. yüzyılda Çarlık Rusya tarafından Karabağ'a iskan edildikten sonra bölgede yaşayan Azerbaycan halkına karşı sistematik bir şekilde baskı, tehdit ve vahşet uygulayan Ermeniler, Mayıs 1918'de kurulan Azerbaycan Cumhuriyeti Hükümeti'ne de tabi olmak istemediler. Nitekim 23 aylık varlığı süresince Cumhuriyet Hükümeti'ne karşı isyan ederek Karabağ'da önce kendi yönetimlerini kurmaya, sonra da bölgeyi Ermenistan'a birleştirmeye çalıştılar. Lakin Azerbaycan Hükümeti hem Ermenistan'dan hem de silahlı çete gruplardan destek alan Karabağ'da yaşayan Ermenilere fırsat vermedi ve tüm ülke sathında toprak bütünlüğünü sağlamayı başardı. Yüz yıldan fazla bir süredir Karabağ'da hak talep eden Ermenilerin, 1918-1920 yıllarında Azerbaycan Hükümeti'ne karşı yaptığı isyanlar, bu çalışmanın konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın özgünlüğü de konunun, dönemin kaynaklarına dayanarak araştırılmış olmasıdır. Haliyle çalışmada, 1918-1920 yıllarında Karabağ'da Ermenilerin isyanları, büyük devletlerin Karabağ konusundaki yaklaşımları ve Azerbaycan Hükümeti'nin isyancılara karşı mücadelesi ayrıntılı bir şekilde irdelenmiştir.
