Özet
Ebû Mansûr Muhammed b. Muhammed b.
Ab? Mans?r Muhammad b. Muhammad b. Mahmud, better known as Imam Matur?d?, was an Islamic scholar born in Samarkand. Although little is known about his life, Imam Matur?d?'s works and ideas have left a deep mark on Islamic thought. Considered as the founder of the Maturid?d? school, Imam Matur?d? focused especially on the sciences of theology and jurisprudence, and developed a methodology that combines reason and nakli. Imam Matur?d?'s "Kitab al-Tawhid" and "Ta'w?l al-Qur'an" are known for their depth and methodological approach in Islamic sciences. These works deal with the issues in the science of theology and theology with rational and transplanted evidence and bring a new perspective to Islamic thought. Imam Matur?d? also made significant contributions to Islamic law and the sciences of tafsir, and left a great impact on Islamic scholars of his time and later. Matur?d?'s ideas are especially important in his treatment of the relationship between reason and revelation. Instead of seeing reason and revelation as a source of conflict, he argued that the two could complement each other in understanding the Islamic faith. This approach inspired later Islamic thinkers and Imam Matur?d?'s thoughts played a central role in shaping Islamic thought. He criticized the Dehriye, who defended the eternity of the universe, denied creation from nothing and explained the universe only by natural causes, the Sümeniye, who claimed that the Earth was in a constant decline and shared the views of the Dehris on the eternal formation of objects, and the Seneviye, who claimed that the universe consisted of two basic beings, one light and the other darkness, and who accepted the concept of two Gods, claiming that goodness came from light and all kinds of evil came from darkness, and proved the universe, the creator and the purpose of creation from his own theological perspective with traditional and rational evidence.
