Özet

The aim of this study is to analyze the effects of nepotism on employees' behaviors and human resources management practices in Turkish public banks. The data were collected via survey from the public banks operating in Ankara. Out of a total of 300 questionnaire forms distributed, 243 were used for analyses. Research model and hypothesizes that were designed via literature scanning, as a part of the objectives of the research, were subjected to Path Analysis using LISREL 8.54 statistical package program. The survey method was used for collecting data. The results of the research revealed that nepotism had significant negative effects on intention to quit, job satisfaction, organizational commitment and human resource management practices. Besides, human resource management practices were found to have positive significant effects on job satisfaction and organizational commitment.
