Özet

In this study, mechanical and tribological properties of graphite filled polypropylene (PP) composites were investigated. For this purpose, 1, 3, 5 and 10% by weight graphite was added to the PP polymer. After PP/Graphite granules were obtained in twin screw extruder, tensile and wear samples were obtained by injection molding technique. The wear and friction behavior of graphite reinforced PP composites were performed in pin-on-disc system, under dry environment conditions at 1.0m/s and 1.5m/s sliding speed and 20N-40N load. As a result of the study mineral added to PP polymer decreased tensile strength and increased tensile modulus. Moreover, the friction coefficient and wear rate of the graphite filled PP composite were affected by the applied load and sliding speed. © 2020, TUBITAK. All rights reserved.
