Sanat ve Tıbbın Kesişiminde Şifalı Bitkiler: Görsel Temsiller Üzerine Bir İnceleme

dc.description.abstractGiriş: Bitkiler, antik çağlardan günümüze tedavi edici özellikleri nedeniyle insanlığın en temel şifa kaynakları arasında yer almıştır. Modern tıbbın gelişimiyle birlikte bilimsel çalışmalarda da birçok bitkinin tedavi edici etkileri görülmüş; günümüzde şifalı bitki popülaritesi tekrar artmıştır. Ancak bitkilerin rolü yalnızca sağlıkla sınırlı değildir. Kültürel semboller olarak da toplumların inanç sistemlerinde, halk anlatılarında ve sanatsal üretimlerinde yer bulmuşlardır. Bu durum, bitkileri yalnızca biyolojik değil, aynı zamanda sosyokültürel ve estetik bir inceleme konusu haline getirmiştir. Amaç: Bu çalışmada, bitkileri yalnızca tıbbi yönüyle değil, kültürel, sanatsal ve mitolojik boyutlarıyla da ele alarak doğa ve kültür arasındaki ilişkiyi disiplinler arası bir perspektifle yeniden düşünme amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırmada literatür tarama yöntemi kullanılmış; yerli ve yabancı bilimsel makaleler, kitaplar, lisansüstü tezler ve dijital veri tabanları incelenerek kavramsal bir çerçeve oluşturulmuştur. Bu bağlamda hem tıbbi değeri hem de sanat tarihindeki sembolik karşılıkları göz önünde bulundurularak; Adaçayı, Buğday, Çam, Defne, Dut, Elma, Haşhaş, Karanfil, Lale, Nar, Nergis, Sarımsak, Kavak, Selvi ve Zeytin bitkileri inceleme kapsamına alınmıştır. Sonuç: Yapılan incelemeler, bitkilerin sanat eserlerindeki temsillerinin sadece estetik bir tercih değil, aynı zamanda dini ve toplumsal hafızanın bir yansıması olduğunu göstermiştir. Botanik verilerin tarihsel ve sanatsal bağlamla harmanlanmasının, tıp tarihi ve kültürel çalışmalar alanında yeni araştırma olanakları sunacağı sonucuna varılmıştır.
dc.description.abstractIntroduction: Plants have been among humanity's most fundamental sources of healing since antiquity due to their therapeutic properties. With the development of modern medicine, scientific research has confirmed the medicinal effects of many plants, leading to a renewed popularity of herbal remedies today. However, the role of plants is not limited to health alone. As cultural symbols, they occupy a significant place in belief systems, folk narratives, and artistic productions across societies. This multifaceted presence renders plants not only a biological subject but also a sociocultural and aesthetic field of inquiry. Objective: This study aims to reconsider the relationship between nature and culture from an interdisciplinary perspective by addressing plants not only in terms of their medicinal properties but also through their cultural, artistic, and mythological dimensions. Materials and Methods: A literature review method was employed. Domestic and international scientific articles, books, postgraduate theses, and digital databases were examined to construct a conceptual framework. Within this context, the plants sage, wheat, pine, laurel, mulberry, apple, poppy, carnation, tulip, pomegranate, narcissus, garlic, poplar, cypress, and olive were selected for analysis, taking into account both their medicinal value and their symbolic representations in art history. Results: The findings indicate that the representations of plants in artworks are not merely aesthetic choices but also reflections of religious and collective social memory. It is concluded that integrating botanical data with historical and artistic contexts can offer new research opportunities in the fields of medical history and cultural studies.
